My beloved sound machine sits by me at night,
To soothe away the cracking, creaking sounds that fright.
The gentle white noise that it produces,
Calms the pesky, rushing thoughts caused from my mind’s juices.
My husband tends to find the machine downright annoying,
But I detrimentally insist it must stay on because he is always snoring!
No matter where I am when I hear a soft, whooshing sound,
My eyes suddenly droop and I almost fall straight to the ground!
I love my silly little sound machine that sits neatly beside my bed,
Because its comforting whoosh pushes out all thoughts from my head!
he he, sweet 🙂

I have one outside my office door and love it as well. The sound machines go up and down our hallway so there are alternating sounds of crickets, white noise and thunder.

Wow, that’s a really good poem! It sounds like something the makers would put on the package. You should pitch to them! (I’m serious)

I too sleep with a sound machine nearby
for sounds of owls in the night sky
Crickets chirping
screen door closing
Sounds of the summer to sleep by.

You know how you don’t know of something and when you learn about it or see it, suddenly you see it more? Well, I saw these outside the doors in the building that houses my grief counselor. I believe everyone in there are therapists of some sort. I asked about them and was told they are used so no one outside of the door can hear the session, casually or otherwise.
