There are so many reasons to love this time of year! Cookies, lights, music, shopping, and Christmas Movies! I adore Christmas movies! They are full of beautiful messages of hope, love and family. December can be a hectic month, but I think it is important to take time out of the day to think about love and hope.
There have been times in my life where my anxiety had been so bad, that I felt as if I could never experience either emotion ever again. I felt lost and afraid. However, I found my family helped lift me out of the darkness, and supported me on the journey to healing.
As I begin my season of watching Christmas movies, I reflect on the purest joys in my life. My husband, my family and my relationship with Jesus Christ. I love Christmas season and celebrating all the beauty life has to offer us!
So which one’s do you like?

All so good . Luckily we don’t have to pick and can just enjoy them all! Do you like any Christmas Carol versions? I’ve been doing a Scrooge series and having a lot of fun with it.

Oh and I can totally relate on the anxiety front. Things that are supposed to be fun can end up being so miserable when you feel that anxiety. It’s awful.

I think for those of us who struggle with anxiety it is important for us to be open and honest with those around us, especially this time of year. That way they can help us when we are feeling overwhelmed.

I agree. I always say it is like brain vomit. Sometimes your stomach gets sick, sometimes your brain gets sick. Nothing shameful about it.
I’ve had 2 panic attacks in my life and they were the worst experiences of my life. I didn’t think about killing myself but I felt like I was going to die. I couldn’t breathe, my head was spinning. It was awful. Through a lot of hard work I’ve learned how to keep my anxiety under check and so I’m proud I’ve only had 2 panic attacks but it can and will happen again. I know that. It’s just a part of my life and I agree we need to be open and honest so we can support each other.
What usually causes the most anxiety for me is I start to worry I am going to lose control and look foolish. I wrote about my experience for one of my nanowrimo books. http://smilingldsgirl.com/2012/11/08/nanowrimo-writing-a-panic-attack/
I’m actually glad I have the internet because it’s hard if you haven’t experienced it to understand what it’s really like.

Reblogged this on Reviewing All 54 Disney Animated Films And More! and commented:
As a fellow clinical anxiety sufferer I totally get what she is saying about the lack of control and fear anxiety sufferers face on a daily basis. It might sound little but something as simple as a movie with a hopeful message can help us regain our strength and press forward. Anxiety is just like any other condition. There should be no stigma. But I am so grateful for Christmas and the joy of Christ’s sacrifice that He always understands no matter what.

A Christmas Story is one of my favorite movies of all time. You’ll shoot your eye out!! You’ll shoot your eye out!! Lol Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Christmas, I think many people forget the true reason behind the holiday. It’s not for shopping. It’s for celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. 🙂
