Disorders of the mind
Are unseen and unheard
Only now has it been given a voice
Technology allows us to see
What has been going on all this time
Imbalances of chemistry
Is all it is
No monsters
Nothing to be afraid of
The fear is in the unknown
But now we know!
We are set free
Given a chance to feel
Happy
Balanced
Elated
Joyful
We are set free!

Imbalances in chemistry is all it is? Enter medication to ‘correct the balance’. I asked both a shrink and a pharmacist why meds were prescribed without first testing what the balances were in any given case unlike, say, the output of the thyroid gland. Their reply? It wasn’t possible to do this.
