Stress is always going to be apart of our life. Stress is a natural reaction our body undergoes to help encourage us to complete tasks and it, in some ways, acts as a natural motivator. Now, for those of us who suffer from anxiety disorders, small amounts of stress can send us into a tailspin in a quick hurry!
We have to learn how to effectively combat stress so that it won’t take a physical or emotional toll on our bodies. Think positively when you find yourself in stressful situations and remember that it will get better.
I am learning how to handle my stress while continuing to remain positive. I have to admit it is incredibly difficult and I have found myself leaning towards the side of self pity, and that is NOT where I want to be. I am going to continue push myself to push onward inspite of the stressful decisions and situations I face.
Good luck! Stay positive! 🙂

Good luck to you. I know you know it’s a hard, hard struggle, but you are willing to fight for it, and that counts for a lot.

I find it so hard to deal with stress sometimes. It causes my anxiety and OCD to spiral big time, and it can be difficult to cope 😦 Have you found any good methods to help you cope?

I have found a few things that help curb it all. I found the most important thing is to open up to those you are closest too. The worst thing you can do when feeling anxious is to keep it to yourself. We need help from our friends and family. Also, It took me a long time to get to this, but I started taking a low dosage of medication to curb the effect of my anxiety and that has been great. I still experience anxiety, but it is not as overwhelming. While I take the medication I work hard to make sure I have other supports in place because I do not want to rely solely on meds. Yoga is fantastic also! I hope this helps give you some ideas. Let me know if you need anything else

Thank you for sharing. I have had the term OCD thrown at me. I even had SSRI intervention.
For me, I have a stressful job. I have had breakdowns. Thank God it has been quite sometime. I think I might have it right but I am not going to be arrogant. When I take things for granted, I kicked in the ass.
It really is about staying away from idolizing anything but the spirit within.. This world is about immediate gratification and quick fixes. If we can stay with the peer to peer relationships, I think that is where the reall help is. I am kind of angry with both the medical and pharmaceutical profession for pathologizing human suffering.

I am kind of angry with both the medical and pharmaceutical profession for pathologizing human suffering…..amen to that truth. I’m very angry and even had the opportunity of sharing it with a few professions..”it makes me so sad to know that you are making millions because of our suffering.’

You most definitely have justification to feel what you feel. Yes, I know the feeling. There are no special interest or lobbyists representing those that are oppressed.

I am learning how to handle my stress while continuing to remain positive…hoot hoot..I’m on that journey too. Ask my family..lol..They remind me when I blow it (since we are not perfect there are slip ups)”now is that handling the stress in a healthy way?”..lol♥ Learning to be gentle with myself, facing stress in a healthy way instead of thinking it’s an enemy and attack (myself or others..usually myself) Conflict resolution with stress instead of shoving it down, being in denial or running from it and causing more damage.
