Stephen King! Where have you been all my life?!

Stephan King has pretty much been around my entire life, he started writing before I was even born. However, I always thought his work was purely horror and, already being an anxious person, I didn’t think I could add extra anxiety from a scary book on top of it! However, after finishing the tv series Under the Dome, which is based on his novel of the same name, I decided to give him a try. I am now in LOVE! Last night I was reading Bag of Bones and while I was reading I physically was scared with anticipation! I have never experienced that while reading a book and it was pretty incredible! I think he is incredible because he is able to conjure up these sorts of emotions and even physical responses by just using his words! Genius! I can’t wait to read more!

Great Romance Stories Are My Favorite: The Longest Ride in Review

If you haven’t read Nicholas Spark’s latest novel, the Longest Ride, I suggest you do so immediately! It is a beautiful story of two paralleling love stories that are separated by time. One takes place during present time, and the other during the 1940s. The book has been turned into a movie that will be released on April 10th. Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, stars as the leading man! I must say he is absolutely gorgeous, and considering his lineage, makes a perfect cowboy!

I am seriously counting down the days until it is released, not only because of the second generation of Eastwoods, but because the novel is one of my favorite love stories of all time. I fell in love with Spark’s novels, the Notebook and the Last Song, were incredible, and I think the Longest Ride is right up there in ranks!

Check out the trailer and see for yourself!

I love my mom!

This evening my family and I have been watching Christmas movies, after we had spent the day shopping! I have missed spending quality time with them and it just feels so good to be back here! I feel so blessed to have a close knit family and we continue the traditions we started when we were kids! For the past 29 years my parents have given us pjs on Christmas Eve so we could have nice pictures on Christmas morning. So, today mom and I bought those pjs for everyone so we could continue the tradition!

It is utterly surreal to be back home because it feels as if I have never left. The feelings of stress and worriedness have bee replaced with relaxation and contentment. I adore being with my family and am looking forward to the next few days with them! I hope they go by slowly!

Understanding and acceptance

As sufferers of mental illness, isn’t understanding and acceptance what we crave? Our dream is to tell people about our illness and not be judged. Not be scoffed. Not be stigmatized. Well all want to be loved for who we are as a human being, NOT for our illness.

Find people who love you: the full package. Surround yourself with individuals who don’t intimidate you to be someone you are not. Find love and acceptance. Don’t settle for less. You deserve more.

Wow! You guys always surprise me!

I feel like I keep thanking you guys, but thank you for continuing to spread the word about my blog and faithfully reading my posts. I never expected to feel so much love and support from all you! Thank you to all 700 of you!! WOW!

Internet high five!

My guilty pleasure is…

My guilty pleasure is Paranormal Romance! I can’t seem to get over them. I truly could devour all paranormal romance novels. 🙂 I particularly have a thing for werewolves… Yum! Not vampires! I ICK!

Guess what?! I am proud of my guilty pleasure (even though my friends who have found out give me a hard time).

What is your guilty pleasure?

Seriously! I love being a teacher!

I know I have written this in the past, but I truly love my job as an educator. Over the last few days I have been very frustrated and stressed about the political side of my job, and it has really worn me down. I have more responsibilities as well so it was beginning to pile up and weigh me down. However, tonight I was reminded why I love what I do. It’s the kids. It is so rewarding to be able to make a difference in their lives everyday. There are many kids at school who don’t have a loving and safe home, and I feel honored to provide them with that within my classroom walls.

Tonight I made a podcast for my kids (since they have to make one) and I pretended I was a middle school girl talking about her day! I had so much fun making it! I cannot wait to show them tomorrow! Just by making this podcast I reminded myself why I do what I do. I love making learning fun and showing them that life is an endless road of new and exciting things to learn! I love that we all share laughter and adventures in academics in my class!

If you happen to be in a rough time at work, school or even just in life, try to find your joy. Your reason for why you carry on everyday. If you cannot think of anything, do something you love and it will reignite passion and help refocus your mind onto the good. Remember that you are not alone and we are all here for you cheering you onward towards happiness!

A Nerd’s Dream!

Harry Potter is now a part of my JOB! I am going to start reading the Sorcerer’s Stone with my 6th grade class an I cannot wait! My kids are actually excited about it and I finally can get paid to do projects about my favorite book of all time! Whoop whoop! It’s a dream come true!
