Power of Words

As I have been reflecting on the growth of my Blog today and the decision to go forward with a Video Blog as well, I have been drawn to the idea that words are powerful. WE have been taught this concept since Kindergarten. However, with our society being saturated with social media, it is even more important to think about what we say. Our words, whether written or verbalized, hold the power to either spread positivity or negativity to those around us. As bloggers, our words are constantly under a microscope and I believe we should be examples of how to use our words to spread hope and love, not despair and loathing.

Let your beautiful words shine out brightly into the dark, cold world of criticism and malice.

Long Day

After a long day of work, there is nothing I love more than loosing myself in a good book! That is precisely what I am about to do!

Sleep well everyone! Remember to stay positive and enjoy the beauty around you! No matter how small 🙂

Oh and great news! Anxiety free today!

Bag of Bones!

Ok, I am about a fourth of the way finished with Bag of Bones, by Stephen King, and I am still loving it! I am so glad I decided to try one of King’s books, because now a whole new world of books has opened up to me! I never wanted to read a s{9615514C-FCEE-4A55-89BB-4AEEA07E66CC}Img100uspense novel before, because I am easily freaked out (hence the anxiety disorder). It is actually a cool experience to be reading and become physically scared! That is what I love so much about words! Just by stringing a few letters and phrases together you are able to create physical and emotional reactions! It just blows my mind every time! OH, how I love writing!

If there is ever a book genre that you haven’t checked out due to preconceived judgements, I suggest giving it a try. I had sworn off “scary” fictions, but I am thankful that I  branched out of my comfort zone and tried something new! It has been a fun experience!

Nerdy Book Club

L-O-V-E. The four most powerful letters in all the world. When the letters are pieced together, it creates a word that holds the meaning of the deepest emotion known to man. Love. Love is the very foundation on which humanity stands. Great and terrible wars have raged on in honor of it, taking no heed of the casualties claimed in its wake. Works of epic literature have been woven  together to demonstrate the lengths mankind will go to taste its fruit.  In the deepest part of our souls, we crave love. Our core aches with longing to understand the meaning of true love and the passion it brings. Whether it is romantic, family ties or even loyalty, we all long to experience it.

deliriumNow imagine a society that has deemed love illegal. To them, it is a disease that infects the brain and eventually leads to lunacy.  This is the…

Stephen King! Where have you been all my life?!

Stephan King has pretty much been around my entire life, he started writing before I was even born. However, I always thought his work was purely horror and, already being an anxious person, I didn’t think I could add extra anxiety from a scary book on top of it! However, after finishing the tv series Under the Dome, which is based on his novel of the same name, I decided to give him a try. I am now in LOVE! Last night I was reading Bag of Bones and while I was reading I physically was scared with anticipation! I have never experienced that while reading a book and it was pretty incredible! I think he is incredible because he is able to conjure up these sorts of emotions and even physical responses by just using his words! Genius! I can’t wait to read more!

Living the Dream

Today was an incredible teaching day! My students were wonderful, which is not always the case. I mean, they are in middle school, so their emotions vary from moment to moment. I felt like all of my classes absorbed the lesson and responded well to what was being taught. It is times like today when I am reminded why I love what I do. Even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade my job for any other job. It is because teaching in my dream. It is what I was created to do. Whether or not I stay in the classroom or not, I know that my life will be centered around teaching others.

I believe that whatever your passion is, you should find a way to incorporate it into your daily life. It may be writing, reading, talking, or socializing. All of these characteristics can be incorporated into various jobs or hobbies. If you cannot find it with full time employment, then after work or school, try to fit it into your routine. It feels good to be engaging in an activity that you enjoy, and in turn you feel more positive and alive. Don’t let your days become mundane. Fill time with passion and your dreams. Life it too short to spend it doing things you hate.
