Stephan King has pretty much been around my entire life, he started writing before I was even born. However, I always thought his work was purely horror and, already being an anxious person, I didn’t think I could add extra anxiety from a scary book on top of it! However, after finishing the tv series Under the Dome, which is based on his novel of the same name, I decided to give him a try. I am now in LOVE! Last night I was reading Bag of Bones and while I was reading I physically was scared with anticipation! I have never experienced that while reading a book and it was pretty incredible! I think he is incredible because he is able to conjure up these sorts of emotions and even physical responses by just using his words! Genius! I can’t wait to read more!

Swoon Worthy Book Characters
To Catch a Pirate
I adore books that are considered secret gems. Several years ago, in my early college years, I happened to come across a great little book, To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker. It takes place in the early 1700s and centers around, Annalisa, a young girl whose ship is attacked by pirates. During the siege she is hiding out down in the bowels of the ship when a young, I assume sexy, pirate finds her. Even though he could have easily given her away, he did not tell his shipmates about her whereabouts, therefore he spared her life. However, they did steal the mighty treasure the ship was carrying, was stolen by the pirates. Some time later, she acquires her own ship and sets off to find the pirate and retrieve the treasure!
Clearly, this is light read, but it is such a fun one! I pictured myself as young Annalisa who was taming the wild seas in search of the man who spared my life, yet took my father’s treasure. I have to say that it was a fantastic fantasy! Not to mention, that the pirate’s name is James Sterling, how sexy is that name? If only my husband was a pirate…. Anyways! Back to the point! If you are looking for an easy and enjoyable read, check this one out. You can get it for your e-reader or in paperback if you prefer. I have the paperback version, and it is sitting on the self of my bookcase, which is where I keep my all time favorite books. 🙂
