I treated myself to getting my nails done today! I love them! Nerd and proud!
Harry Potter is now a part of my JOB! I am going to start reading the Sorcerer’s Stone with my 6th grade class an I cannot wait! My kids are actually excited about it and I finally can get paid to do projects about my favorite book of all time! Whoop whoop! It’s a dream come true!
Over the past few posts I have opened up about some more personal issues in my life regarding my anxiety, so now it is time to let you know the lighter and more fun part of me! I can say loud and proud that I am a NERD! The most nerdy part of me is my love for all things Harry Potter! I have been reading (and many many times rereading) the books since I was in elementary in the mid to late nineties! So pretty much we are best friends. 🙂 I’m sure you’re all curious to know which book is my favorite, but It’s hard for me to pick one! I guess I could say that the 6th one (HP and the Halfblood Prince) is up there. I also have all of the audiobooks and I listen to them all the time. I’m fairly certain that my husband knows them all by heart now. 🙂
To carry on deeper into nerdom, I love superheros (but honestly, who doesn’t?) My classroom is decorated with superheros and I frequently wear my Marvel shirts to school. X-Men, by far, is my favorite! If you have never done this before, don’t judge too harshly, but when I was in high school, I wrote out fan fictions with several friends that involved X-Men! 🙂 It was pretty fun!
Oh! How could I forget?! Lord of the Rings is amazing! I have read all books and seen all the movies more times than I can count. I even wrote my senior thesis about the Christianity allegories throughout the series (of course I got an A on it!) I was really impressed with the Hobbit and I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for the next part to come out!
There are so many other nerdy things about me, and I fully embrace all of them! If you ever want to have a nerd discussion, just message me and I will happily engage in the discussion (I’m sure my husband will be grateful as well)
Nerd an Proud!
