A must read!
I cannot put this book down! It is Sarah’s Key, and it is the most eye-opening, beautiful, heart wrenching story I have read in a long time. It is about a young Jewish girl in occupied France during WWII, who locks her brother in their secret cupboard when the Frech Police come to round them up. What we learn throughout the story is the fate of the men, women and children who experience the Frech round ups. Around 13,000 Jewish people were taken during this time and sent off to labor camps and eventually death camps. I had never heard of these round ups before I read the book so I have learned so much about history and the depths of the human heart.
If you are at all interested in this time period, you should check out this book!
Long Day
After a long day of work, there is nothing I love more than loosing myself in a good book! That is precisely what I am about to do!
Sleep well everyone! Remember to stay positive and enjoy the beauty around you! No matter how small 🙂
Oh and great news! Anxiety free today!
Excited!
My favorite time of year is here! Valentine’s Day, for me, always means BOOK SALE! Every year since my husband and I have been married we have gone to this annual book sale down in Phoenix, and it is always the highlight of my year! I would much rather smell the scent of old books than that of a dozen roses. Now this doesn’t mean I don’t like flowers. So honey if you are reading this, as a reminder: Daffodils are my favorite!
Looking for a New Read!
I am looking for a new book to read, and I am not sure what to get! What are your suggestions?
Rain day = Cuddling with Stephen King!
We are experiencing one of our rare rainy days here in Arizona and I am going to take FULL advantage of it! I have my comfy blanket, my cuddly dogs, a nice fluffy pillow, and Stephen King’s Bag of Bones all laid out on the couch! I am getting ready to dive into the pages and get lost in the supernatural suspense of King’s words! I can’t wait!
Bag of Bones!
Ok, I am about a fourth of the way finished with Bag of Bones, by Stephen King, and I am still loving it! I am so glad I decided to try one of King’s books, because now a whole new world of books has opened up to me! I never wanted to read a suspense novel before, because I am easily freaked out (hence the anxiety disorder). It is actually a cool experience to be reading and become physically scared! That is what I love so much about words! Just by stringing a few letters and phrases together you are able to create physical and emotional reactions! It just blows my mind every time! OH, how I love writing!
If there is ever a book genre that you haven’t checked out due to preconceived judgements, I suggest giving it a try. I had sworn off “scary” fictions, but I am thankful that I branched out of my comfort zone and tried something new! It has been a fun experience!
Exploring the Themes of Delirium by Lauren Oliver – Review by Elle Scott
Check out the book review I did for The Nerdy Book Club!
L-O-V-E. The four most powerful letters in all the world. When the letters are pieced together, it creates a word that holds the meaning of the deepest emotion known to man. Love. Love is the very foundation on which humanity stands. Great and terrible wars have raged on in honor of it, taking no heed of the casualties claimed in its wake. Works of epic literature have been woven together to demonstrate the lengths mankind will go to taste its fruit. In the deepest part of our souls, we crave love. Our core aches with longing to understand the meaning of true love and the passion it brings. Whether it is romantic, family ties or even loyalty, we all long to experience it.
Now imagine a society that has deemed love illegal. To them, it is a disease that infects the brain and eventually leads to lunacy. This is the…

Stephen King! Where have you been all my life?!
Stephan King has pretty much been around my entire life, he started writing before I was even born. However, I always thought his work was purely horror and, already being an anxious person, I didn’t think I could add extra anxiety from a scary book on top of it! However, after finishing the tv series Under the Dome, which is based on his novel of the same name, I decided to give him a try. I am now in LOVE! Last night I was reading Bag of Bones and while I was reading I physically was scared with anticipation! I have never experienced that while reading a book and it was pretty incredible! I think he is incredible because he is able to conjure up these sorts of emotions and even physical responses by just using his words! Genius! I can’t wait to read more!
Great Romance Stories Are My Favorite: The Longest Ride in Review
If you haven’t read Nicholas Spark’s latest novel, the Longest Ride, I suggest you do so immediately! It is a beautiful story of two paralleling love stories that are separated by time. One takes place during present time, and the other during the 1940s. The book has been turned into a movie that will be released on April 10th. Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, stars as the leading man! I must say he is absolutely gorgeous, and considering his lineage, makes a perfect cowboy!
I am seriously counting down the days until it is released, not only because of the second generation of Eastwoods, but because the novel is one of my favorite love stories of all time. I fell in love with Spark’s novels, the Notebook and the Last Song, were incredible, and I think the Longest Ride is right up there in ranks!
