We are experiencing one of our rare rainy days here in Arizona and I am going to take FULL advantage of it! I have my comfy blanket, my cuddly dogs, a nice fluffy pillow, and Stephen King’s Bag of Bones all laid out on the couch! I am getting ready to dive into the pages and get lost in the supernatural suspense of King’s words! I can’t wait!
Ok, I am about a fourth of the way finished with Bag of Bones, by Stephen King, and I am still loving it! I am so glad I decided to try one of King’s books, because now a whole new world of books has opened up to me! I never wanted to read a s
uspense novel before, because I am easily freaked out (hence the anxiety disorder). It is actually a cool experience to be reading and become physically scared! That is what I love so much about words! Just by stringing a few letters and phrases together you are able to create physical and emotional reactions! It just blows my mind every time! OH, how I love writing!
If there is ever a book genre that you haven’t checked out due to preconceived judgements, I suggest giving it a try. I had sworn off “scary” fictions, but I am thankful that I branched out of my comfort zone and tried something new! It has been a fun experience!
Stephan King has pretty much been around my entire life, he started writing before I was even born. However, I always thought his work was purely horror and, already being an anxious person, I didn’t think I could add extra anxiety from a scary book on top of it! However, after finishing the tv series Under the Dome, which is based on his novel of the same name, I decided to give him a try. I am now in LOVE! Last night I was reading Bag of Bones and while I was reading I physically was scared with anticipation! I have never experienced that while reading a book and it was pretty incredible! I think he is incredible because he is able to conjure up these sorts of emotions and even physical responses by just using his words! Genius! I can’t wait to read more!
