Continuing to Work

We are almost done with our garage remodel and it is really starting to come together! Today I was pretty grumpy while my husband and I were working (since we are now on day 5) and I was feeling like all of the work hasn’t been worth it. However, by the time we were finished for the night, I was able to step back and admire the work we have done together and see how great it is all looking! So I really am glad we have put in all the work because we do make a pretty good little team!

When we started, there was only drywall, and a few shelves. We textured, painted, and installed trim and cabinets!

I love drawing!

It feels so good to be drawing again! I just felt like I didn’t have time anymore, but I have actually be finding that it doesn’t take up too much time. When I am lost in my head space everything else disappears. My anxiety. My stress. My schedule. My concerns. It all disappears as the picture on my page comes to life. It is fantastic therapy! I have been finding that I am less anxious after I have been using my creativity, and that is huge progress! YAY!

Here is my latest little creation!

Nail art is therapy!

while my parents were in town, my mom and I went and got our nails done together! It was such a blast! She doesn’t often pamper herself so it was a treat to be able to have her take some time for herself. She deserves it! šŸ™‚

Her nails are the blue ones, and mine are the green!

Pursue your interestsĀ

For several years, I have wondered if I would be good at painting. In the back of my mind there was always a push towards pursing that hobby but I never thought I had what it took. I have always been very good at drawing with pencil, however, I thought paint wouldn’t work for me.

Fast forward to last night, I picked up a little paint set that was on sale and I gave painting a shot! I was pleasantly surprised by how it came out! I am glad I took a chance! It may not be amazing, but it is cute!

Rain day = Cuddling with Stephen King!

We are experiencing one of our rare rainy days here in Arizona and I am going to take FULL advantage of it! I have my comfy blanket, my cuddly dogs, a nice fluffy pillow, and Stephen King’s Bag of Bones all laid out on the couch! I am getting ready to dive into the pages and get lost in the supernatural suspense of King’s words! I can’t wait!

Living the Dream

Today was an incredible teaching day! My students were wonderful, which is not always the case. I mean, they are in middle school, so their emotions vary from moment to moment. I felt like all of my classes absorbed theĀ lesson and responded well to what was being taught.Ā It is times like today when I am reminded why I love what I do. Even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade my job for any other job. It is because teaching in my dream. It is what I was created to do. Whether or not I stay in the classroom or not, I know that my life will be centered around teaching others.

I believe that whatever your passion is, you should find a way to incorporate it into your daily life. It may be writing, reading, talking, or socializing. All of these characteristics can be incorporated into various jobs or hobbies. If you cannot find it with full time employment, then after work or school, try to fit it into your routine. It feels good to be engaging in an activity that you enjoy, and in turn you feel more positive and alive. Don’t let your days become mundane. Fill time with passion and your dreams. Life it too short to spend it doing things you hate.
